What is Coffee Talk?

Basically you will be listening and interacting in an hour long conversation while enjoying some coffee at a local café. What better way to practice your English than with a person that´s from The United States. My goal is to make the atmosphere comfortable so you can relax and not be afraid of talking in English in front of people. The maximum size group will consist of four people. Small groups are better. Therefore each person will get to participate and take full advantage of the hour. Here in Spain, many people know how to write in English, but not many know how to carry a conversation. In my classes you will be listening to me and participating in the classes. The best way to learn another language is if you hear it spoken alot and not having anyone around translating for you. That is exactly the way I learned to speak Spanish.

I played professional basketball in South America and had to learn Spanish from my teammates and coaches. At first I didn´t understand anything, and as time went by I started learning words and phrases. While learning I started writing down the words I didn´t understand in a notebook to study at night. You won´t learn to speak perfectly in one month. The process takes time, so you have to be patient. I have a lot of experience teaching children English. Now I have the opportunity to teach English to adults. This is something I´ve been wanting to do for a long time. This is a great program for English teachers to get together with me and talk. It helps them practice pronunciation of words correctly. Also business people that travel a lot internationally. No matter where you go in the world you're sure to find someone that speaks English.

¿Qué es Coffee Talk?

Básicamente (en Coffee Talk), estarás escuchando e interactuando en una conversación de una hora de duración mientras disfrutas de un café en una cafetería de la ciudad. ¡Que mejor forma de practicar tu inglés que con una persona de Estados Unidos!. Mi objetivo es conseguir una atmósfera confortable de manera que te puedas relajar y no tener miedo a la hora de hablar inglés delante de la gente. El tamaño máximo de la clase será de cuatro personas. Es mejor que los grupos sean pequeños. Aquí en España mucha gente sabe cómo escribir en inglés pero son pocos los que son capaces de mantener una conversación. En mis clases estarás escuchándome y también participando. La mejor forma de aprender otro idioma es escuchándolo un montón sin tener a nadie cerca de ti traduciendo. Esa fue exactamente la manera en la que aprendí a hablar español.

Yo jugué profesionalmente a baloncesto en Sudamérica y tuve que aprender español de mis compañeros de equipo y entrenadores. Al principio no entendía nada, pero como el tiempo transcurría comencé a aprender palabras y frases. Durante el aprendizaje escribía las palabras que no conocía en un cuaderno para estudiar por la noche. En un mes no aprenderás a hablar perfectamente. El proceso lleva tiempo, por lo que deberás ser paciente. Tengo un montón de experiencia enseñando inglés a niños. Ahora tengo la oportunidad de enseñar inglés a adultos. Esto es algo que durante mucho tiempo he estado esperando para hacer. Este es un gran programa para profesores de inglés para reunirse conmigo y hablar. Esto les ayuda a practicar la pronunciación de las palabras de forma correcta. También a gente de negocios que viaja un montón a nivel internacional. No importa a que parte del mundo vayas, estate seguro que encontrarás a alguien que hable inglés.
